We are entering the mid-point of winter now as the Sun transits through the fixed air sign Aquarius co-ruled by Saturn and Uranus. Uranus can make this sign erratic and unique while Saturn lends discipline and limitations. This year’s winter artic cold may be harking back to the weather changes back in 1800’s mini ice age also we are in the Age of Aquarius which was a time of change and transition on the planet. Aquarius gives us the ability to reach for a progressive perspective that is to be altruistic towards others and detached about our attachment to life, also to look at life from a broader humanitarian view to life and to see that all is well within the matrix.
People with the Sun in Aquarius are friendly yet detached from all the friends they have, they cannot be contained by anyone else as they listen to the beat of a different drummer! They love helping others, sharing information and knowledge and like to think of themselves as everyone’s friend. They are passionate and like to see themselves as creative and powerful as the opposite sign Leo is their balance. They are loving and caring yet detached from those attachments, yet they rule others whom they may want to guide or they demonstrate their alternative perspective by living the example. 1rst week Feb. 1-3, it’s that special time for Groundhog Day if it’s cloudy and the groundhog does not see its shadow then only 6 more weeks of winter, so the saying goes. Mars squares Pluto which will release a lot of energy on this weekend so look for letting go of the limitations as Mars in its own powerful sign Aries will want to push things out of the way aiming for that change and transformation. Venus planet of love, health, money and values will shift into the serious earth sign Capricorn we may feel more interested in our current security.  This may be a time of calculated waiting before jumping forward towards opportunities this month later this month.

2^nd week Feb. 4^th-10^th, New Moon in the friendly air sign Aquarius starts this month’s lunar cycle. This is an outgoing social energy and a good week to get going on your plans and projects. The Chinese New Year Feb. 5^th brings in the year of the Boar.  The boar/pig is representative of abundance, satisfaction, and slumber.  Because he is asleep at the wheel, he may miss opportunities and so a mixed omen for the year.  Mercury planet of networking and communications will shift into the mystical intuitive water sign Pisces. This month may be filled with imaginative, creative or foggy thinking later this month.

3^rd week Feb. 11th-17th, First Quarter Moon Feb. 12^th in the practical earth sign Taurus we may want to look and check things out first before making a move as Taurus likes comfort and security and fears change and transformation. Mars in Aries conjoins Uranus in Aries on Wed. this may charge up the energy which can lead to personal breakthroughs or breakups.  Watch yourself while driving around as people are likely to be charged up, impatient and erratic. Mars will mellow out as it shifts into Taurus this week and a slower pace will ensue.

4^th week, Feb. 18-24^th, the transiting Sun enters the mystical water sign Pisces bringing in a more intuitive perhaps quieter introspective energy until mid-March. Pisces energy can be imaginative and busy with lots of feelings and thoughts about things. The Supermoon charges up this week with the Moon in Virgo the opposite of Pisces. The awareness offered by the polarity of this Full Moon is details and analysis versus faith, the ephemeral psychic realms. Mercury conjoins Neptune both in Pisces can make things appear more mystical, foggy, yet imaginative and perhaps inspiring new ideas. Its a good day to open up enjoy a walk, hike; be with nature.  Venus conjoins Pluto both in Capricorn, Friday can be illuminating if you allow the security patterns challenged to be dismantled and find new values in yourself and relations as Mercury in Pisces will sextile Pluto on Saturday.

5^th week Feb. 25^th-28^th, The Last Quarter Moon in the enthusiastic fire sign Sagittarius finishes the month’s lunar cycle. This is a good time to review and meditate on the month’s activities by asking yourself, which goals were started, reached and completed. This is a good time to clean up, evaluate and get ready for new activity next week when the new lunar cycle commences.
