February’s Astrological Focus:
The first week of February brings a powerful planetary alignment, as several major planets gather in Aquarius and stand in direct opposition to the Moon in Leo. This dynamic energy highlights Aquarian values such as humanity, collective ideals, and the pursuit of justice for all. The tension between the needs of the group and the desire of the individual becomes especially apparent, casting light on egotism and nepotism and exposing their negative influence. The actions and motivations of those in positions of authority are scrutinized, prompting reflection on who truly benefits from the societal structures that shape our world. Societal Structures and Scrutiny throughout February will focus on the
Public attention is intensifying around the structure of our cultural and social systems. Collective questioning arises as we consider whether these frameworks are designed to uplift the majority or merely serve a privileged few. This scrutiny reaches leadership and authority figures, encouraging a deeper examination of fairness and equity within our communities. The demand for justice and greater accountability grows stronger, challenging us to reconsider the true purpose and beneficiaries of the systems we live under.
Mercury, Venus and Mars ride along with the Sun in an Aquarius Solar eclipse. This alignment focuses our energy to continue through March. Some folks may feel scattered or driven depending on their natal chart patterns. Let go of fixed, idealistic views and open up to new potentials.
The Solar Eclipse on Feb. 17th at 28 Aquarius brings light and awakening to the USA collective. The Moon in Aquarius is a wake-up call when we see clearly all that has been hidden now, with Neptune in Aries showing a new way. The USA Moon in Aquarius represents the collective who are awakening,
Jupiter, planet of growth and expansion in the water sign Cancer, is retrograde over the USA natal Sun in Cancer and Mercury. Here, we see an intensification of our relationships with other world partners changing for better or worse. As a collective, we see the consequences of our decision-exploration vs exploitation of others’ resources for our own security. Jupiter is visited this spring by 3i/Atlas in March, around Jupiter’s Moon Eupheme. It continues to release gases as it transits by the planets. We’ve yet to see what this visitor will co-create with the biggest planet in our solar system.
The water signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces get the most benefit from Jupiter’s retrograde transit.
As Uranus moves forward in Taurus, ushering in changes within our security structures, banking systems, shared resources, and planetary earth systems, all are revealed. The paradigms we have built for our security are changing as countries line up to support one another, and the geopolitical map has changed. This period of transition will continue until April 2026, when Uranus shifts into Gemini.
Pluto in Aquarius: Long-Term Transformation Pluto’s entry into Aquarius marks the beginning of a profound era of change and transformation that will span the next sixteen years. This period intensifies the contrast between authoritarian impulses and individual rights. Society stands at the edge of a transformative shift, one that will gradually redefine how power, justice, and collective responsibility are understood and exercised on a global scale. The early signs of this transition are already visible, signaling a time of deep and lasting societal evolution.
Aquarius Sun signs will experience the strongest effects of Pluto’s transit, along with other fixed signs: Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio. Transformation will be the key to unlocking new perceptions and understandings.
Saturn and Neptune in Aries:
Saturn moves into Aries Feb. 14 and will transit there until April of 2028. This is a significant shift out of Pisces and into Aries. Pisces Sun signs can feel relief now that the challenges have been met. Next up are Aries natives who could learn patience and structure to their inspirations.
Saturn and Neptune, moving together in the fiery sign of Aries, are spiritual warriors forging a new path, with a new cycle that begins, opening doors to fresh ideas and journeys of spiritual growth. Saturn’s influence brings discipline and structure, supporting the release of outdated paradigms and the initiation of new plans. Neptune brings in an inspirational vibration. The Aries Sun signs born mid-March through the first week of April will feel Saturn’s impact most strongly and should pay close attention to important decisions. Libra, along with other cardinal signs such as Cancer and Capricorn, will also experience this aspect, encouraging them to embrace change and move forward with intention. Initiatives and justice will prevail by November when we visit the polls.
The Lunar Cycle for February
We start the first week with the intense Moon in Leo opposite the Sun in Aquarius. This full moon energy is like riding a seesaw of emotions, passion vs objectivity, the all-in-one principle, we can find a balance between the polarity of the many versus the few, particularly in the societal power structures. A good day to find perspective on Groundhog Day, it may be just 6 weeks for the thaw, for most who experience the polarity of a really cold winter and a warm one in the southwest.
Uranus goes direct on Tues. 3rd, most of the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius natives will feel this shift, as it unblocks resistance. A dynamic week, also with Uranus squaring Mercury, there could be weird or explosive communication patterns, or issues emerge in relationships which Venus rules in Aquarius on Sunday, Feb. 8th. Uranus goes direct on Tuesday, which means the planet shifts from a period of apparent backward motion (retrograde) to moving forward again in the sky. In astrology, when a planet “goes direct,” its energy becomes more active and outward-focused, often sparking breakthroughs or sudden changes. This shift is especially significant for those with planets in Taurus or other fixed signs—Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius—since “fixed signs” are known for their stability and resistance to change. During this time, blocks and resistance are lifted, making way for dynamic progress. Later in the week, on Sunday, February 8th, Uranus forms a “square” aspect with Venus in Aquarius. A “square” is when two planets are about 90 degrees apart, creating tension and a need for adjustment. This can lead to unexpected developments or shake-ups in relationships and finances. For Taurus natives or anyone with strong fixed sign placements, it’s a great idea to stay flexible, keep an open mind, and welcome new opportunities—even if they arrive in surprising ways. Embracing change now can help you navigate any sudden shifts in your daily life with confidence and curiosity.
2nd week Feb. 9th-15th, the Last Quarter Moon in the intense water sign Scorpio can stir things up. Work through any conflicts or keep to yourself. This last moon phase is good for finishing projects and making decisions about what you want to bring forward in the next lunar cycle. It’s time to organize and clean up. Saturn, planet of restrictions, karma, and time, moves into Aries until April 2028. It will bring discipline to clean things up and start a new creative paradigm to live by new dynamic principles. Patience is a virtue. The Sun will square Uranus in Taurus, which could be a difficult day as disruptive energies are released. Watch your pace and temper.
3rd week, Feb. Presidents Day, and the Solar Eclipse energy can bring a strong awakening in the air sign, Aquarius. The masses are marching and making their mark on this day, of the Chinese Lunar Year of the Fire Horse. On Wed. Feb. 18, Ash Wednesday occurs with the Sun and Moon in Pisces; this aspect brings in a strong intuitive energy that helps us to focus on compassion. The Christian symbol for Christ’s love, compassion and sacrifice is Pisces- the Fish. This energy is good for strong intuitive hits in consciousness, opening up and receiving as the Universe is talking. The energy shifts over the weekend while the Moon in the fire sign Aries joins with mysterious Neptune in Aries. The Moon in Aries squares expansive Jupiter on Friday, and Saturn and Neptune conjoin, so it could be a difficult energy. We may want to hold off on any major decisions this month, as the air is clearer about our inspiration after Mercury goes direct.
4th week, Feb. 23-28, The Moon is in practical Taurus on Monday, squares Mars in Aquarius, which can be a strong, combative or creative energy. Mercury goes retrograde on Feb. 25th, so watch your schedules, timing of events, or contracts, and read things carefully. Some computers experience glitches, or machinery breaks down things that need repair will show up. This can be a confusing time for facts, yet a good time for review, re-evaluation, and revision. Mercury goes direct motion on March 20th in the water sign Pisces. We get to review the last 3 months and get ready for spring.
A dynamic month following an intense New Year. It will slow down towards May. So, hold on to your seat. Stay safe and off the streets, as protests will continue around the ICE men.
