In the Stars for May
May is a beautiful month,  the air is filled with the pleasant scents of flowers and tree pollen in the air, for some, it takes some work to get through the spring. This is a great time to get outdoors, hike, walk or work in your garden. The transiting Sun in Taurus brings in a mellow energy compared to April’s impatient, reckless fiery Sun in Aries. We can settle down and start practical business under the Sun in Taurus. Some fixed security-type values will be a challenge as the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction finishes up this month. Mercury is direct now in the fire sign Aries then will move into Taurus bringing in more practical ideas by mid-month. Pluto goes retrograde in Aquarius on May 2^nd and will go direct on Oct.12^th 2024, with a passage back into Capricorn to finish up with the revelations of corruption in governments and global cooperations. This process will continue for the next 2 years as we move towards reforms of these mass control systems. Venus, Jupiter and Uranus in the practical materialistic Taurus will expand and expose those security values. So if your Sun sign is Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius you were born in the middle of the month around the 18^th you will feel the impact of these conjunctions. Perhaps it’s best summed up as an awakening and a time for a change to your value system money, security,  and relationships, Ask yourself where the needed change is, usually where things are falling apart. The Moon’s Nodes in Aries and Libra provide new directions where we can take the initiative towards new ideas and direction. Aries is about initiative, courage and boldness, Libra is about harmonizing those initiatives with what is good for a wholesome balance between self and others. The Nodal energy will increase mid-month when they conjoin with Mars in Aries the ruler of this sign. Some people like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius ae the most influenced by this spartan thrust of energy. So you may experience strong energy drives this month. Saturn in Pisces can help to catch up on compassion, solidarity, sacrifices or martyrdom. Some Pisces people born in early March may feel pressure from Saturn to get their act together. The water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces may feel a push towards stability as Saturn can give discipline through this transit. Neptune the ruler of intuitive or confusion-making Pisces is in its sign and continues towards the end of this sign before it shifts into the fire sign Aries on March 31 2025, perhaps this will help lift all the veils of illusion, we perceive our reality from presently.  Some of the water signs can benefit an increase to their intuition and psychic abilities.

The Lunar Cycles for May
1st week, of Beltane, the celebration of spring is on the 4^th of May. Traditions involving the growth of livestock and pastures are still practised at this time in the northern hemisphere, especially in the UK. The  4th Quarter Moon in Aquarius helps to be objective and be aware of humanity’s needs to grow and expand. We can benefit from the objective reality that Aquarian energy can give. The last quarter Moon is a good time to re-evaluate your work and projects, clean things up and get ready for the next new moon phase.  On Tuesday, May 7^th, the New Moon will be at 18 degrees Taurus a powerful time to manifest your ideas and plant your seeds for gardening.

The evening light increases at the 2^nd Quarter Moon on May 15th,  in the fixed fire sign Leo which squares the Sun in Taurus. You may feel like making decisions in this lunar phase.

The transiting Sun enters the witty intellectual sign Gemini on May 20^th, the solar energy shifts and lightens up, and perhaps we feel more elated and communicative. We will have the Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 23^rd. Gemini and Sagittarius are the polarities of this Full Moon phase; the joyous and abounding Jupitarian sign Sagittarius opposite the intellectual reasoning logic-driven air sign Gemini. The see-saw of these two energies can be balanced by practising an active type of meditation like yoga or tai chi. Venus, the planet of love and values moves into the witty intellectual sign Gemini. This transit can increase our social skills and diplomacy with others this month.
On May 25^th Jupiter, a planet that expands and grows our energy joins up with Venus in airy Gemini. This aspect can speed up decisions and plans for expansion. On May 29^th,  Mars, the planet of action and war enters its powerful fire sign of Aries. Expect a sudden push forward perhaps with ongoing social conflicts and protests; “anger is an energy”, as the saying goes.
The fourth Quarter Moon occurs May 30^th, in the water sign Pisces; we may feel like a phase is ending as Mercury in Taurus joins Uranus in Taurus increasing practical values. Ideas will be slanted towards some traditional value system but with Uranus in Taurus also influences energy that seeks to topple the social order.
